“It is not a political cause, but a pseudo-religion meant to baptize liberals’ ruthless pursuit of absolute power in the holy water of environmental virtue.”

With little alteration this could be applied to the right's use of Christianity as a means of hiding their will to power from themselves. But is Roberts' Catholic Christ in concert with Vought's Evangelical Christ?

it's hard for me not to see the Straussian stuff as mere projection—people raised by authoritarians seeing the imposing of force as the means of all human interactions, when it isn't.

“Moreover, low-income communities are drowning in addiction and government dependence.”

When white people get addicted to opiates they’re victims who deserve support, when Black people faced the crack epidemic they had to be locked up as they were dangerous criminals

"West Coast Straussians are obsessed with the Founding – and the idea that America is good because the Framers based the country on certain natural rights and timeless laws of nature, enshrining these eternal laws and morals in the country’s founding documents. "

I can't wrap my head around this. A half dozen or so men, brilliant and well educated as they may have been, had all the answers to a government, maybe every government before and since , and all the thoughts, proposals, philosophies, righteous causes since then are egregiously wrong?

How can anybody take these Straussians seriously? Including themselves. They are, and I don't like to think of anyone in this way, really terrible people.

I am a trans woman who is scared to DEATH of Project 2025. I have cross posted this article to my own Substack WokeAF because it's so important that EVERY American knows what Conservatives envision for this nation should they win again.

On my Substack I have carefully researched the history of gender non-conformity and how it appears in the human species going back tens of thousands of years. I do this to prove that Conservatives are wrong when they claim that being transgender is somehow a "new" thing, or a "trend", or something that suddenly appeared. Wrong. Gender is a spectrum, not a binary. And the science proves it.

I am the Mom of a trans man and I am scared to death as well. Sending you love. My TruBluPolitics Podcast will be recording today with two women who started globalextremism.org and are sounding the alarm. The episode will drop 3/3. We are getting the word out.

I find it very difficult to accept that anyone with half a brain actually believes this nonsense. Roberts has a phd in us history. He knows he's just spouting crazy talk to whip up the peasants.

Debating fascists is a sucker's game because they're just trying to distract you so you don't see the gun until it's too late.

A much need piece that gets to the heart of what 'conservatism' has become: a dangerous violent cult. In it, one can find the power of religious zealotry mixing with powerful monied interests and the moral morass needed to elicit the worst from both. Everything departs from their projections: "US vs THEM, everyday people vs globalist elites." But THEY are the globalists: It is they that find community with global groups and leaders(Orban, Meloni, Bolsanaro), they who fund and control the most powerful lobby groups(donors Trust, Leonard Leo, Kochs), they who travel around the world to install their brand of religious sanctioned hate as they have in Africa. While there are real and valid criticism of America's center or even 'left', there is simply nothing like what has evolved on the right. It is worldwide, it is entirely antithetical to American founding documents, it uses the ugliest parts of religion, capitalism, and money to achieve its goals. This piece should be a must read for every voter as money and an ever disappearing investigative media only aid in the assault on democratic pluralism.

“our political class has been discredited by wholesale dishonesty and corruption.”

That’s all you need to know. Just look at the net worth of any politician including these clowns.

I’m covering the Christo-fascist language of Project 2025 in my Substack. 5 or so posts a week. Happy to be a resource if you need to bounce ideas for Part II.

Sadly, I think a LOT of Americans will favor this.

Right after it was published I read Robert's foreword/executive summary and the chapter on the DOS. It sent shivers down my spine. A blueprint for an autocratic ( I still have a certain hesitance to use the f-word, though it becomes more appropriate by the day) take-over. In combination with a reinstituted Schedule F it will send the country down a road with no return.

The scariest thing: They feel so emboldened, secure and self-righteous that they don't feel the necessity to hide their plans. Do they bank on the support or the ignorance of the electorate? Let's hope for the latter. All the more important to spread the word and educate the public.

To all readers: please forward Thomas' piece.

Why are you so afraid to call it what it is, which is fascism? Enough hedging!!! Are you worried someone’s feelings will be hurt? Words have meaning and what this man is describing is baseline fascist AT LEAST.

Stefan Schlüter's avatar

You certainly have a point. I guess it is difficult to shed 38 years of working as a diplomat :-)

Kiwiwriter47's avatar

As a German diplomat, you know better than any American the consequences of authoritarian dictatorship, from your own nation's history.

I'm afraid I do. And so does Thomas.
