Trump is not the mastermind behind Project 2025. It’s worse: The rightwing establishment has radicalized to the point where their plans are entirely in line with his vengeful desires

They might not promise the same thngs, exactly, but they are one and same in intentions...and this is no different than it was as far back as the mid 80's (I would argue the 50's, but that's another discussion). Donald has never been smart enough to calculate a short or long term plan of ANY KIND (see all his business failures when he actually was calling the shots), nor disciplined enough to stay any particular course. Starting the Russians, then David Pecker/NBC, then Bannon etc al he has followed THEIR lunatic plans...only adding in his particular skill of oration, coupled with an inconsistent ability of timing (making him appear somewhat crazy). He's consistently performative and transactional because that's all he has patience for as a narcissistic, petulant, immature, spoiled ass hole.
To sum it up; he's the megaphone the others are the truly evil plotters and executionists.

Your analysis of what is in store for us if Trump gets back in office should alarm all citizens who care about democracy. One feature of Project 2025 that alarms me is that it’s a “one size fits all” plan; that is, the plan will be implemented when any Republican is elected whether or not it’s Trump. Indeed, in Republican controlled states the plan is already working as states rush to outlaw abortion & strip public schools of funding to name 2. Trump and the donors behind the 2025 Project have shared interests, and they are feeding off each other in a toxic delusional frenzy right now. The delusion they share is that they represent the majority and God is on their side. They are in for a rude awokining if they actually achieve power and try to implement their paranoid agenda. But it might finally expose the dark, shriveled, bigoted heart at the base of the GOP. Which might finally put an end to its reactionary impulses and give birth to a decent new right, led by sensible people like Jonah Goldberg and David French and others at The Dispatch.
Too bad more people didn’t read MacLean’s “Democracy in Chains” before all this mess began. Nevertheless, I advise that you do so now. Perhaps follow up with Maddow’s “Prequel.”
This is a profoundly bad and evil program, and Trump’s behind it. He knows all about it, but the brains (and Trump isn’t one) devised it. I know what they will do to public programs and government employees. We need to hammer on it and stop it.
